Sometimes the financial commitment makes it challenging to make a commitment to get the needed help. Here are some possibilities that other families have found helpful and utilized:

• Two monthly payments (due on the 1st and 15th), rather than one at the beginning of each month. A $5 fee will apply.

 

• Homeschool charter students can use charter school funds (ask us for more information, if you would consider homeschooling as an option)

 

• Seek out help from family, such as grandparents or extended family

 

• Financing options through PayPal

 

• Some clients have been able to use their Health Savings Account (HSA) funds to pay for tutoring

 

• Bank card with low or no interest rates

 

• Jewish Free Loan Association - No interest loan for students with special needs available to families, currently available to LA and Ventura County families ONLY (You don’t need to be Jewish to apply) www.jfla.org 

 

• Refinance your home or get a low interest equity line

 

• Online funding campaigns such as www.gofundme.com 

 

• Purchase your own Orton-Gillingham material and tutor yourself or find a family member or friend to do it for you

 

• Trade tutoring services with another family, that also need tutoring

 

• Talk to your tax accountant to see if tutoring can be tax deductible or a tax write off
